Dear fellow pool player:

This month we are going to do something even more exciting, with bigger prizes added.

First, let's watch one of the most exciting games in 9 ball history: the tiebreaker between Chao Fong-Pang and Francisco Bustamante in 2001 Challenge of Champions at Mohegan Suns Casino for $50,000 US Dollars.

Actual Video Footage of the Game
CueTable Layouts of the Highlighted Shots
AZ Forum Discussion on this Game

As you can see, there are some spectacular shots as well as some breaking points in this game. In order to study the finer details behind this game and and share with everybody, we have broken up parts of the game into a few different challenges, with awarding and bonus points assigned to each (max points: 32). Try and study them as much as you can. If you can do a shot and share with everyone via video online, then you have earned the points. The person who has gathered the most points will take the first place prize.

The contest is free for anyone to join. Along with your entry, we will publish your video link at the end this page according to the number of the balls made and the time stamp of email. All the shots can be done at different time. However, they must be done by the same person, you.

Let's give it your best shot!

Cheers,

Cuetable

The amazing shots

(Click on the diagrams will bring them out on CueTable in full size)

Shot #1: The one rail Kick with extreme English

Shot Value: 5 points / Bonus: 3 points

This is the first amazing shot of the game by Chao. Position the ball as shown above, try to kick 1 ball in with extreme right English to get 5 points. If you have successfully kicked 1 ball in, try shooting the 2 and the 3-6 combo in for extra 3 points bonus.

Shot #2: The Best way to get to the 4 and 5

Shot Value: 5 points / Bonus: 3 points

Let's study where is the best place to place the cue ball for this. You have ball in hand to start. Make 3-6 combo, set up for the optimal position on the 3 so you can shoot the 4 into the lower right corner comfortably to get 5 points. Further more, if you can pocket the 5 afterwards, you get 3 points bonus.

Shot#3: Second one rail kick of The Game

Shot Value: 5 points / Bonus: 3 points

This is an amazing shot of the game by Bustamante. Position the ball as shown above, try to kick the 5 ball into the upper left corner to get 5 points. If you have successfully kicked the 5 ball in, try shooting the 7 and 8 in for extra 3 points bonus!

Shot#4: Jump to pocket the seven

Shot Value: 5 points / Bonus: 3 points

This is the greatest shot of all by Chao under pressure. Position the balls as shown above, try to jump the cue ball over the 9 and pocket the 7 ball into the lower right corner to get 5 points. If you have successfully pocketed the 7 ball in, try running out the table for extra 3 points bonus!
