Pocketless Billiard Table

We have created a billiard table for all the purist of cueist. The URL address is:

http://cuetable.com/C/

Our 3c CueTable was modeled after a 5' x 10' 3 cushion table. Everything was up to scale and all the markings are correct. There are multiple balls and different grids for various billiard games (3 Cushion, 4 Ball,Balkline, Italian 5 Pin Stecca).

The table works the same way as the pool table. For information and tutorial on using CueTable please visit our HowTo page. It is available in 5 languages.

The table is also blog ready. If you like Balkline Billiards or would like a little mind exercise, please take a look at our example blog: 76 Shots of Weingartner Billiard Program

Project La Fortune

Artist Man Ray's master piece "La Fortune" has been talked about numerous times in art history.
However, very few has mentioned about the shot in it.

At Sang Lee International Open 2006, we showed the layout to the attending players and experts and asked this question:

" Consider billiard as a moving artform and you as an artist, what's your solution to this? "

Very interestingly, we have got quite a few different reponses from world class players and experts.

Please come and check them out at Project La Fortune Homepage: http://CueTable.com/LaFortune/

Cue Ball Control

From a pool player's perspective, 3 Cushion Billiards requires the total visualization of English action and rail effects. It has be regarded as "the mother of all games" or "the Tai-Chi" of kung fu.This game has been around for a lot longer than our grand grandfather. Prior to the 50's, it was considered one of mainstream sports among upper class people.

The rules is very simple: There are 3 balls on a pocketless table. The Yellow and the White are the cueballs. You will decide on which cue ball to use before the game starts. To make a billiard (1 point), use your cue ball to hit the other two balls. But wait, before your cue ball hits the second ball, it has to hit the rails 3 time. Therefore it has got the name: 3 Cushion Billiardsd. It is a game with positive attitude, people encourage you go for the score instead of playing safeties. The game is always going foreward; there is no penality in scratching (no pockets), jumping the ball off the table, miscuing, hitting blank or hitting the wrong cue ball.

"In billiard, every stroke is an expression. Sometimes you have to hit a ball hard, you need to transform your whole body into a hammer to achieve the level of intensity. And for a soft shot, you will be flowing as light as a piece of feather."
